Tenant Screening Tips

Home > Landlord Stuff Forum > Tenant Screening Tips > RE: Tenant Screening Tips

I work for a screening company, and the best two pieces of advice I can give are this:

-Confirm the date of birth on the application with the date of birth on their drivers license.

Check for accuracy and transposed numbers.

-If checking criminal records, be sure to check records on Alias' as well

Public records are stored on name and date of birth match ONLY!

If you are not searching on the exact name and DOB that the record is filed under, the record will be missed.

Finding this information has absolutely NOTHING to do with Social Security number.

"SMART" criminals know how the system works!
